Mate Tribes resolve

IMPHAL, Sep 30 [TSE] : Three significant resolutions were adopted during the Central Executive meeting of the Mate Tribe Council, Manipur held today at the conference hall of Hotel Nirmala, said a statement issued to the press today. With the vice president of the Mate Tribe Council, N Mate presiding the function, the gathering passed three resolutions, which read as, "The Mate Tribe Council, Manipur from its inception has been pursuing for a distinct identity. In the course of our struggle, MTC, Manipur has not opened a joint dialogue with any other Mate organisations; The Mate Tribe Council, Manipur has no knowledge regarding the Mate Phungpi Assembly proposed to be held at Tengnoupal village, Chan-del district from October 14 to 17, 2010. Henceforth, no individual should attend the said assembly as an MTC representative and the proposed feast organised under the leadership of Mr Shaokholun Mate at the residence of Dousei Mate is not acceptable since the matter is not related to MTC; Shri Dousei Mate has no individual authority to accept such feast," added the statement.
