It is to clarify the standpoint of Zomi Council regarding the proposed formation of Common Political Front for the Zo People's Movement. Following the meetings held with various CSOs/ Tribe leaders on the 3rd July and 6th of July 2024, the consultative meeting of Zomi Organizations on 26th July 2024 and the Zomi Council/ ZCSC meeting held on the 27th July 2024 considered viewed were taken as follows:
1. Zomi Council support the formation of a Common Political Front (CPF) to pursue the current political demand.
2. Such Common Political Front should be discussed thoroughly in the Zo United Forum. The formation should be carried out in tandem with SoO groups and the Zo Ministers/ MLA's along with various CSOs/ Tribe bodies who all are stakeholders in the matter.
3. Accordingly, Zomi Council will not be sending any delegate to the proposed Joint Meeting convened by KIM on the 29th July 2024.
