Lamka, March 28, 2025: In a significant move to restore peace and stability, the Zomi Council and Hmar Inpui have jointly established the Joint Monitoring Group(JMG) for Harmony. This initiative follows the joint peace appeal issued by the two Innpis on March 17, 2025 which was aimed at preventing violence, misunderstanding and communal division between the two communities.
The formation of JMG for Harmony comes in response to recent tensions between the two communities. Leaders from both sides have emphasized the need for mutual respect, dialogue and a structured mechanism to amicably resolve disputes.
The JMG for Harmony consists of four representatives from each community, all of them being respected religious and community leaders.
