The Chin Brotherhood (CB) has announced that it has successfully taken full control of Falam Township in Chin State after defeating the last remaining military junta forces in the area.
According to the statement from the Chin Brotherhood's military command, the final assault took place on April 9, 2025, when they captured Light Infantry Battalion 268, the last stronghold of the military regime in Falam. With this victory, the Chin Brotherhood declared Falam Township entirely free from junta control.
During the battle, the resistance reportedly captured a significant cache of heavy weapons, ammunition, and funds from the junta forces.
The operation, which began on November 9, 2024, under the codename "Operation CB," saw months of intense combat. To prevent the fall of Falam, the junta had reinforced its positions with troops from Infantry Battalion 89 (approximately 100 personnel) and Infantry Battalion 391 under Division 77 (another 100 troops), launching over 1,000 airstrikes in defense of the township.
The successful campaign involved cooperation among multiple revolutionary forces, including 96 Soldiers PDF, Anti-Fascist Internationalist Front (AIF), Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA), Burmese Revolutionary Technical Front (BRTF), Generation Z Army (GZA), Giant Revolution Force (GRF), Harmonious Northern Brothers (HNB), Kalay Revolution Force (KRF), Kalay Urban Guerrilla (Kalay UG), Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT), National Liberation Army (NLA), Revolution Ambulance Wolf (RAW Medical Team), Sagaing Federal Troop (SFT-Sol), Yaw Defense Force (YDF), Zo Army (ZA), and Kalay District People's Defense Forces, along with drone units.
The Chin Brotherhood credited their success to the unwavering determination of allied resistance groups, strategic and material support from the Arakan Army, and the unified backing of the local population.
In their statement, the Chin Brotherhood honored the fallen and wounded fighters who participated in the Falam campaign, and reaffirmed their commitment to the fight against military dictatorship and the establishment of a federal democratic union in Myanmar.
