The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), in a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur, demands a minimum of 35 legislative seats for tribals – 22 for Nagas and 13 for Chin-Kuki communities.
They assert that current seat allocation unfairly favors the valley, leading to prosperity there while the hills are neglected due to "constitutional manipulation." The TNL insists on a restructuring for fairness and warns that opposition to this change will be responsible for the breakdown of coexistence.
