A potential tragedy was averted in Serou Village, Kakching District, Manipur, on 23 Aug 2025 when personnel from the Assam Rifles successfully neutralized an unexploded bomb discovered in the area.
The explosive device was spotted by a local grazer, who promptly alerted authorities. Acting swiftly, a team of 18 Assam Rifles personnel arrived at the site, secured the perimeter, and carried out a controlled neutralization operation. No casualties or damage were reported.
