Subject: Complaint regarding invention and circulation of false, defamatory, and derogatory content against Indian Freedom Fighter Rani Gaidinliu in Whatsapp groups.

Respected Sir,

I, Ranjita Golmei, General Secretary of the Kabui Mother Association, Manipur, am lodging this complaint on behalf of our association against certain unknown persons who have invented and circulated false, defamatory, and derogatory statements maligning the honour of our revered Indian Freedom Fighter Late Rani Gaidinliu.

It has come to our notice that in certain WhatsApp groups, malicious messages have been circulated referring to Rani Gaidinliu as a “prostitute.” This is a grossly false, baseless, and deliberate attempt to insult the legacy of a national icon who fought valiantly for the freedom of our country.

Such acts amount to serious criminal offences under the BNS 356, 356(3), 353(2), 156, and 152.

This false propaganda is not only an attack on the honour of Late Rani Gaidinliu but also an insult to the sentiments of the entire Kabui (Rongmei) Naga community, freedom fighters’ families, the people of Manipur, and the people of India at large.

We request you to kindly investigate the source and persons involved in the creation and circulation of the said defamatory content, and take stringent legal action against all responsible.
