Paite Tribe Council Opposes Misuse of Paite Puandum

The Paite Tribe Council General Headquarters (PTC GHQ), the apex body of the Paite tribe, is surprised to learn about the inclusion of the Paite Puandum as a part of the official letterheads of both the Kuki Students’ Organization, Delhi & NCR as well as the Working Committee Kuki CSOs, Sadar Hills without our prior knowledge or consent.

Paite is one of the tribes that make up the Zomi Ethnic Group; hence, the need does not arise for Paites and Paite organizations to be represented at any of the Kuki organizations, whether it is the Kuki Inpi, the Kuki Students’ Organization, the Kuki Zo Council or the Working Committee Kuki CSOs.

In the interest of maintaining the much-needed mutual respect and understanding between the various communities in these trying times, we sincerely request the above-mentioned Kuki organizations to remove the Paite Puandum from their respective official letterheads, and call upon other such non-Paite and non-Zomi organizations to refrain from using the Paite Puandum or various representations of the Paite tribe including our traditional shawls without the consent of the PTC GHQ.
