Lamka, September 12, 2025 — The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has issued a public appeal urging members of the community to uphold unity, discipline, and respect during the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Council expressed disappointment over reports of vandalism on roadside decorations prepared for the Prime Minister’s arrival, stating that such acts do not reflect the spirit and values of the Kuki-Zo people. KZC emphasized that these were the actions of a few individuals and called on the public, especially the youth, to refrain from unruly behavior.
“We must not allow such isolated incidents to overshadow the goodwill and hospitality of our people. Instead, let us rise above and welcome the Prime Minister in a dignified and honorable manner,” the statement read.
The Council said the Prime Minister’s visit marks a new chapter of hope, recognition, and meaningful engagement for the Kuki-Zo community. It urged all sections of society to extend full cooperation and participate wholeheartedly in the historic occasion.
KZC further appealed to the public to come out in large numbers, dressed in traditional attire, to warmly welcome Prime Minister Modi and showcase the rich culture, unity, and resilience of the Kuki-Zo people.
