Weapons Seized Near Saikhumphai, Champhai, Mizoram

In a joint operation, Assam Rifles personnel conducted a search in the jungle near Saikhumphai, Champhai, Mizoram, on September 18. The search continued into the next morning, September 19, when a cache of weapons and explosives was discovered buried underground.

The recovered items include:

One Heckler & Koch G3 Assault Rifle

One Springfield Sniper Rifle

One 60 mm Mortar Tube

21 Kuanmu (for use in rifles)

13 grenade bombs

Additionally, bomb-making materials and equipment were seized, such as:

8 meters of Cortex

Two wire trips

A sniper scope

Two RPG range extenders

One AK-47

One pistol magazine

A radio set with antenna

Other assorted items

The seized arms and materials were handed over to Dungtlang Police for further investigation.
