Imphal, Nov. 20, 2025 — A written complaint has been submitted to the Governor of Manipur by the Personal Assistant/Private Secretary (PA/PS) to Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, alleging unruly behaviour and threats by IGP Themthing Ngashangva.
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday when IGP Ngashangva allegedly entered the MP's residential compound—also the historic Royal Palace (Konung)—and threatened the MP's security personnel. The IGP reportedly warned that he would file an FIR against the MP, accusing him of organising rallies of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and giving them shelter.
The PA/PS stated that the IGP not only shouted at but also intimidated the security team on duty. The letter emphasised that the Royal Palace is considered a sacred and culturally significant site in Manipur.
The complaint requests immediate action against the IGP to "restore the dignity and respect" of the MP. It also suggests that the officer be placed under suspension pending inquiry. Photos and videos are said to have been enclosed as evidence.
