PRESS INVITATION
Sub: Press Conference on Sexual Violence Against Kuki-Zo Women in Manipur: Call for Accountability and Separate Administration.
Dear Members of the Press,
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Delhi & NCR, cordially invites you to a
Press Conference to address the tragic death of a young Kuki woman who
survived abduction and brutal gang rape during the Manipur violence of May
2023, but succumbed to complications from her injuries on 10 January 2026.
This press conference seeks to highlight how her death is a direct consequence
of conflict-related sexual violence and the continued denial of justice, marked
by the failure to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators and the absence of
accountability among responsible authorities
Further, in light of continued violence, systemic injustice, and state failure, the
organisation will reiterate that the demand of the Kuki people for a separate
administration (Union Territory with Legislature) is not only legitimate but
necessary and unavoidable to ensure lasting peace, security, and justice.
Venue: Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg, New Delhi
Time: 2-5 PM
Nearest Metro : Central Secretariat Gate no.1
