Once known as a peaceful town, Lamka has now been overshadowed by conflicts and rising tensions. On February 12, 2026, trouble gripped the town during the day and continued throughout the night. Tension and fear left the people of Lamka sleepless.
Amid these internal divisions and painful unrest, a beautiful song was born — penned by Pupu Zou — as a heartfelt call for peace and unity.
*************
Aw Lamka, Let Us Choose Peace
(Verse 1)
Aw Lamka, where brothers reside,
Under the same sky, side by side,
Different tongues, different names,
Yet one shared home, one shared flame.
The hills remember every tear,
The roads still echo pain and fear,
But in our hearts a truth remains—
We lose the most when hatred reigns.
(Chorus)
Aw Lamka, hear our plea tonight,
Let us not turn to rage and fight,
Sit together, speak what’s true,
Peace begins with me and you.
Hand in hand, we’ll find a way,
Let love be louder than dismay,
Aw Lamka, brothers we remain,
Let dialogue outshine the pain.
(Verse 2)
We’ve walked through storms, we’ve seen the fire,
Watched hope grow dim, then rise up higher,
No stone can heal, no blade can mend,
But words can bridge and hearts can bend.
Your sorrow is my sorrow too,
Your dreams are mine, forever true,
The land we love, the air we share,
Calls us now to choose repair.
(Chorus)
Aw Lamka, hear our plea tonight,
Let us not turn to rage and fight,
Sit together, speak what’s true,
Peace begins with me and you.
Hand in hand, we’ll find a way,
Let love be louder than dismay,
Aw Lamka, brothers we remain,
Let dialogue outshine the pain.
(Bridge)
No more silence, no more blame,
We are family, not a name,
Circle round and light the flame,
Peace and justice, both the same.
If we listen, we will see,
There’s strength in our unity.
(Final Chorus)
Aw Lamka, rise above the cries,
Let understanding be our guide,
We’ll sit and talk, we’ll make it right,
Turning darkness into light.
From this day, let hearts proclaim,
We are one despite our pain,
Aw Lamka, brothers we remain—
In peace, in hope, in love again.
