Lamka, Feb 6, 2026: The Zomi Students' Federation–General Headquarters (ZSF-GHQ) on Thursday called for collective decision-making and urged all sections to avoid violence amid recent political developments in Manipur.
In a press release issued by its Information and Publicity Wing (IPW), ZSF-GHQ said the recent constitution of the Council of Ministers should serve as a reminder of the need for unity and collective responsibility. It stated that as long as elected representatives continue in their roles as MLAs, they are part of the government, and the inclusion of some MLAs in the Cabinet should not be viewed negatively.
The federation noted that recent incidents of violence appeared to be linked to internal politicking and dissatisfaction among some groups over Cabinet induction. It appealed to all concerned to refrain from any untoward incidents.
ZSF-GHQ further urged tribal leaders to present a clear roadmap for a political solution, assuring unconditional support for such an initiative.
The organisation also said it would take steps to prevent any untoward incidents related to ongoing internal political issues.
