Lamka, April 13, 2026: An unidentified female dead body was discovered on the outskirts of Muolvaiphei village under Saikot Sub-Division in Churachandpur district, Manipur, late Monday night.
According to official sources, the information was received at around 11:30 PM from the Secretary of Muolvaiphei Village Authority. A police team immediately rushed to the spot, conducted an inquest, and completed all necessary legal formalities.
In connection with the incident, a case has been registered vide FIR No. 04(04)2026 WPS CCP under Section 103 of the BNS, 2023. The District Magistrate, Churachandpur, has been informed to depute an Executive Magistrate for the inquest proceedings.
The body has been deposited at the District Hospital Morgue, Churachandpur, for further necessary procedures, while investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
