Kangpokpi, June 27, 2026: Security forces on Friday recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives during a search operation conducted in the hill ranges between Maohing village and North Changoubung under Kangpokpi Police Station in Kangpokpi district on June 26.
According to official sources, the recovered items included one AK-47 rifle with a magazine, one 9 mm carbine with a magazine, one .303 rifle, four pistols, and 29 single-barrel firearms.
The security team also seized one .303 rifle magazine loaded with three live rounds, 129 rounds of live ammunition of various calibres, two pump-action guns (Pumpis), three improvised bombs, 200 grams of PEK explosive, two No. 36 hand grenades, and three Baofeng radio sets.
The recovered weapons and explosives have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
