The Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) has rejected a purported press release circulating on social media regarding the proposed formation of the Separate Administration Demand Party (SADP), stating that it has no knowledge of or association with the initiative.
In a press release issued by the Kuki People's Alliance, Department of Information and Publicity on 26 July 2026, the KPA clarified that Singhat MLA Chinlunthang Zou and Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing are elected representatives of the KPA. It said any proposal involving them is their personal political decision and does not represent either the will of the Kuki people or the official position of the party.
Reaffirming its political objective, the KPA stated that it remains committed to achieving Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with Legislature under Article 239A of the Constitution of India. The party said that, if elected in the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly (2027–2032), it would pursue this goal through constitutional and democratic means, including introducing a Separation of Manipur Bill.
The party further stated that the proposed SADP does not reflect the aspirations of the Kuki people and has therefore been categorically rejected and denounced.
Advising the public not to be misled by unauthorised documents, the KPA emphasised that the political future of the Kuki people must be determined solely through the democratic process and not by the diktats of any Suspension of Operations (SoO) signatory militant groups, including the UPF and KNO.
