The Myanmar military has reportedly suffered heavy casualties while launching offensives in Sittwe and Pauktaw areas of Rakhine State, deploying around 1,000 troops across five columns.
According to a source close to the Arakan Army (AA), more than 100 military personnel, including battalion and column commanders, have reportedly been killed or wounded in the fighting.
Heavy clashes have also continued in Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady regions along the Rakhine border, where the military has launched large-scale offensives.
