THE Kuki Human Rights Forum (KHRF) has strongly condemned the brutal killings of Tinglinlun Chongloi and Paoginal Hangshing, who were allegedly abducted and killed by Naga militants, with their bodies reportedly chopped into pieces and stuffed into five sack bags.
In a statement issued on November 1, 2026, the organisation described the killings as an inhumane act of violence and a grave violation of fundamental human rights and international law.
The forum also accused security forces of using excessive force against peaceful protesters and civil society organisation (CSO) leaders who had gathered to mourn the victims and demand justice. According to the statement, security personnel allegedly fired tear-gas shells and carried out indiscriminate lathi-charges against mourners and community leaders attempting to maintain peace.
The KHRF further alleged that instead of apprehending those responsible for the killings, security forces resorted to violence against grieving civilians, raising serious questions about the state's responsibility to protect the lives and safety of the people.
Demanding accountability, the organisation called on the government to clarify allegations of a covert proxy conflict against the Kuki-Zo community involving NSCN-IM and armed Naga groups. It also demanded immediate legal action against those responsible for the killings, along with criminal proceedings against police personnel and security officials allegedly involved in the crackdown on peaceful protesters.
