Hill Area Committee (HAC) Resolution: 11 March 2021

The Hill Areas Committee, Manipur Legislative Assembly, in its meeting held on 11th March, 2021, discussed the matter regarding “Declaration of Reserved Forest in Hill Areas”; the Committee unanimously adopted the following resolutions:

RESOLUTION NO. 38/2020 (HAC)

1. “The Hill Areas Committee resolved that there is a procedural error in the Declaration of Reserved Forest after 1972. Any declaration of Protected Forest, Reserved Forest and Wildlife Sanctuaries on or after 20th June, 1972 shall not be enforced by the Department until the approval of the Hill Areas Committee, since it pertains to Scheduled Matters of Article 371C of the Presidential Order of 1972.”
2. “Forest Territorial Maps should be made at par with the existing Revenue District Boundaries for administrative convenience.”
