Mount Simtongbung also known as Koubru Hill and Thangting Hill are hills inside Kukis' ancestral land and they are Kukiland in which our forefathers resided since time immemorial and we their children still live in these lands till date.
Meiteis paid taxes to Kuki Chiefs of Saitu and Ukha Loikhai just to climb up the Koubru and Thangting Hills once in a year.
Lets say it again, Meiteis' land in Manipur is just 650sqkm and the hills are Kukis' land.
