On July 12, 2025, a delegate from KSO-Bangalore participated in a workshop under the Northeast Youth Civic Engagement Initiative (NYCE), organized by White Dot Solidarity Network in collaboration with the Northeast Tibetan Students Forum (NETSF) of St. Joseph's University, with support from Restless Development India.
The workshop, titled "Youth Leadership and Human Rights for Students and Migrants," was facilitated by two powerful and engaging speakers. Participants were taken through the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) — highlighting nearly 30 key articles — and shown how these global principles align with the Fundamental Rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution. For marginalized communities, understanding and asserting these rights is not only empowering but also essential in the face of injustice.
The session also explored the significance and functions of international institutions such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), offering valuable insight into global justice mechanisms and their relevance.
The second half of the program shifted focus to Youth Leadership. One core message echoed throughout: leadership begins within. A true leader is not defined by position or power, but by humility, active listening, courage, and the ability to inspire through action. The speaker left participants with a resonant quote by Brené Brown:
> "Courage is contagious. Every time we choose courage, we make everyone around us a little better and the world a little braver."
✨ Overall, the workshop was a deeply enriching and thought-provoking experience. Heartfelt thanks to the organizers and coordinators for extending an invitation to KSO-Bangalore and for hosting such an impactful event.
