Lamka, Sept. 20 — A candlelight vigil was held in Churachandpur on Saturday night in solidarity with the two Assam Rifles jawans who were killed and the five others who sustained injuries in an ambush at Nambol, Manipur, on Friday evening, 19 September 2025. The attack was carried out by suspected Meitei militants.
Members of the Kuki-Zomi-Hmar community gathered in large numbers, holding candles and offering prayers for the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. The vigil was marked by peace and solemnity, as participants called for justice and demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable.
Speaking at the event, community leaders condemned the violence and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives. They urged the government to take strict action, ensuring that the killers are brought to justice without delay.
The gathering also reaffirmed solidarity with the armed forces and honored the courage and dedication of the jawans who laid down their lives for Mother India.
