12 Sept 2025: Four junta soldiers were killed in a battle in Kale Township, while seven regime troops were captured, including Indian nationals identified as Meitei and NSCN militants, according to the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG).
Resistance forces also seized large stockpiles of weapons, ammunition, and narcotics from the joint camp. Among those captured was Nongthongbam Malemnganba Singh, a resident of Sekmai, Manipur and a cadre of the Meitei terrorist group UNLF. Singh was found carrying heroin along with multiple Indian identity documents, including Aadhaar, voter ID, health card, and a driving license — clear evidence of cross-border fighters involved in the junta’s campaign.
The discovery of weapons, drugs, and foreign fighters in Kale Township highlights the growing convergence of terrorism, narcotics, and cross-border complicity fueling the junta’s war effort. This battle underscores the regime’s reliance on illicit networks and foreign proxies to sustain its offensives, further eroding its already fragile legitimacy.
