Rengkai | October 9, 2025: The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) Governing Council convened its General Body Meeting today at the VTI Auditorium, Rengkai, Churachandpur District. The meeting commenced at 11:30 a.m. and continued for four and a half hours, bringing together a total of 60 delegates representing various constituent bodies under the Council.
The first session featured presentations of key reports: the Financial Report was delivered by Rev. Dr. G.S. Gangte, Treasurer of KZC, followed by the Organisational Activity Report presented by Pu Henlianthang Thanglet, Chairman of KZC. Both reports highlighted the Council's ongoing activities, challenges, and financial management during the current term.

The second session, a Business Session, was chaired by Pu C.H. Ajang Khongsai, Co-ordinator of the Governing Council. Various pressing issues concerning the functioning of the Kuki-Zo Council and the community's collective aspirations were discussed in detail. Delegates actively participated by sharing their views, opinions, and constructive suggestions for the way forward.
After thorough deliberation, as our movement continues and our demands remain unfulfilled, the Governing Council conducted a vote among the constituent members and resolved the following:
1. Tenure Revision: The tenure of the KZC Cabinet shall henceforth be fixed at two years.

2. Continuation of Current Cabinet: The existing Cabinet members of the KZC shall continue to serve for the next two-year term.
3. Public Mobilisation: A public rally or protest shall be organised in the near future to urge the Government to expedite the fulfilment of the political demands of the Kuki-Zo people.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of unity and determination to carry forward the movement until the aspirations and rights of the Kuki-Zo community are duly recognised and achieved.
