MIC Appeals for Peace and Unity Among Senapati & Kangpokpi

AN APPEAL FOR MUTUAL COEXISTENCE TO THE SENAPATI AND KANGPOKPI
BRETHREN IN CHRIST

The 10th November, 2025

We, the Mizo Integration Council (MIC), extend a heartfelt and sincere appeal to our brethren in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts to cherish the virtues of peace, harmony, and Christian brotherhood, as taught to us in the Holy Bible by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Mizos trace their origins to the 16th century, when our ancestors migrated from China into the northeastern regions of India, particularly the Lushai Hills, now known as Mizoram. Our forebears were resilient and independent people, bound by a shared language, culture, and tradition. The name “Mizo” represents a family of tribes and clans, including the Kuki, Chin, Zomi, and others who share a common heritage and collective identity in Myanmar, Bangladesh and India.

As tribals and Christians, we Mizos and Nagas share a sacred bond and shared values that transcend division. Our faith in Christ and our rich tribal heritage must remain the pillars on which we build understanding, reconciliation, and cooperation.

The Mizo National Front (MNF), established in 1961, played a historic role in the struggle that ultimately led to Mizoram’s statehood in 1987. Its enduring vision of a unified Mizo to inspire us toward collaboration and integration across borders.

It is our earnest desire to see Christian love and brotherhood flourish in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts, nurturing an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and peaceful coexistence. We envision a future where Mizos and Nagas live side by side in harmony, celebrating our diversity and working together for shared prosperity. A future where our communities thrive without fear, mistrust, or division. A future where our children grow up with dignity, hope, and faith, grounded in the shared tribal identity and spiritual foundation of Christ’s love.

The Mizo Integration Council reaffirms its commitment to this noble cause and invites all stakeholders—community leaders, church elders, youth, and civil society, to join in this collective effort. Let us come together with open hearts and willing hands to build a future marked by peace, understanding, and unity. May the love of Christ and the spirit of brotherhood guide us toward a brighter and more harmonious tomorrow for our communities.

Media & Publicity,
Mizo Integration Council (MIC).
