A Pastor Killed in Pakistan

Pastor Kamran Slamat, age 45, was brutally murdered on 5 December 2025 outside his residence in Islam Colony, Sialkot Road, Gujranwala, Pakistan. The tragedy unfolded early in the morning as Pastor Kamran Slamat was preparing to take his daughter to college. At that moment, an armed unidentified man approached Pastor Kamran Slamat and suddenly opened fire at close range, striking him in the right wrist, left ear, and lower abdomen. Although Pastor Kamran Slamat was rushed to Civil Hospital Gujranwala for emergency treatment, he could not survive his injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that the killer attempted to escape immediately after the attack. In a moment of extraordinary bravery, Pastor Kamran Slamat's daughter tried to defend her father and struck the extremist with Pastor Kamran Slamat's crutch, forcing him to flee. Police arrived shortly afterward, collected forensic material, and secured CCTV footage from nearby locations. A First Information Report was registered under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Pastor Kamran Slamat's daughter was able to identify the armed attacker, described as a man with a long beard. The investigation is ongoing, and Christians across Pakistan are demanding justice for Pastor Kamran Slamat and his family.

This horrific killing was not the first violent attack against Pastor Kamran Slamat. Two months earlier, Pastor Kamran Slamat survived another extremist assault in Islamabad in which he was shot in the leg. After that incident, he moved his family to Gujranwala hoping for greater safety. However, Pastor Kamran Slamat continued traveling to Islamabad to minister to believers, refusing to abandon the calling God placed on his life. He repeatedly received threats, yet Pastor Kamran Slamat stood firm and continued preaching the Gospel with courage and unwavering faith.

His ministry extended beyond preaching, touching many lives through prayer, pastoral care, and leadership among churches facing persecution. Pastor Kamran Slamat advocated for Christians who experienced discrimination and violence, boldly speaking out even when extremists tried to silence him.

Pastor Kamran Slamat leaves behind his wife Salmina Kamran, and his children Numeer, Arina, and Ariel, who now face deep grief and heartbreaking loss. His death has shocked the Christian community throughout Pakistan, and believers remember Pastor Kamran Slamat as a humble and faithful servant of Jesus Christ who refused to stop proclaiming the truth of the Gospel.

The martyrdom of Pastor Kamran Slamat stands as a painful reminder of the ongoing persecution Christians continue to face in Pakistan. His courage, faithfulness, and sacrificial life will continue to inspire believers everywhere to stand firm in their faith, regardless of danger, following the powerful example set by Pastor Kamran Slamat until his final breath.
