THESE images show the painful truth of life for innocent people in Myanmar. The small huts made of straw, the pots scattered on the ground, and the people walking with heavy loads on their backs are not scenes of ordinary village life—they are scenes of survival.
Since the military coup in 2021, the Myanmar Military Junta has unleashed extreme violence across the country. Thousands of civilians have been killed. Villages have been bombed and burned. Women have been raped, children shot, and elders beaten. Entire communities have been forced to flee into forests, mountains and makeshift camps with nothing but the clothes they can carry.
The first picture shows a family living under a tree, using a straw hut and old cloth for shelter. This is where they cook, sleep and survive. They are hiding in fear because the junta soldiers have destroyed their homes. There is no safety, no proper roof, no warm bed—only the cold ground.
The second picture shows families walking long distances, carrying their belongings on their backs and heads. Some use ox-carts filled with what little they could save. These people once had homes, farms and peaceful lives. Now they walk because staying behind means death.
And now winter has begun. The cold season will bring even more suffering. Many displaced people—young children, infants, the sick, and the elderly—are living without blankets, warm clothes or proper shelter. No one knows how many will die in the coming months. The world will never hear their names, but their suffering is real.
Myanmar’s Military Junta continues to bomb villages from the air, fire heavy weapons into civilian areas, and commit abuses without mercy. These innocent families are paying the price. Their pain must not be ignored. The world must see the truth of their struggle and stand with them against this brutal and cruel regime.
