INTERNATIONAL ZOMI PEACE CONFERNCE

Organized by: Zomi Innkuan USA, Inc.
Hosted by: Zomi Association Malaysia
Feb. 18-19, 2026
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

RESOLUTION
Date: Feb. 20th, 2026

1. Delegates of the International Zomi Peace Conference (hereafter simply as the conference) resolved to initiate peace-building measures to foster mutual respect, recognition, trust, and durable peace amongst rival parties within the Zomi ethnic group. This peace-building mission will be coordinated by the Zomi Innkuan USA (ZIUSA). ZIUSA shall reach out across various stakeholders and work out appropriate measures towards this end.

2. The conference expressed concern over the progressive loss of Zomi language and culture due to the persistent cycles of conflicts and the consequent waves of out-migration among the Zomi people, especially in Myanmar. It thus resolved to initiate the construction of a Zomi Community Centre in Yangon, Myanmar. To demonstrate its resolve, on-the-spot fund drive was made among delegates of the conference in which a total of 143,023,300 Kyats were mobilized. The responsibility for coordinating this project was delegated to ZIUSA and ZYA General Headquarters, Myanmar.

3. The conference resolved to advocate for the implementation of Zomi language in alignment with "Zolai Tonggualh" published by the Zomi Christian Literature Society (ZCLS) as a part of syllabi in all Government, Private and Church run schools in Zomi inhabited areas in Myanmar.

4. The conference resolved to facilitate and nurture a network for 'research and documentation' amongst Zomi communities in India and Myanmar and diaspora groups across the world.

5. The conference expressed its concern over the growing instances of communicable diseases, especially among young adults and women. It resolved to create awareness and advocacy on such issues and those pertaining to health and mental health within the Zomi community.

6. The conference acknowledges the deep fissures and pain caused by the cultivation and black marketing of Poppy plantations in Zomi areas. It unequivocally condemns all actors involved in their cultivation and propagation.

7. The conference resolved to commemorate the second Sunday of February as the Zomi National Day of Prayer.

The resolutions taken by the International Zomi Peace Conference (IZPC) will be implemented in a spirit of inclusivity by collaborating with all Zomi stakeholders and parties regardless of political affiliation or ideology to establish a lasting pathway to peace and reconciliation amongst Zomi communities across the world.
