_The Joint Forum of Seven (JF7) announces a 'TOTAL SHUTDOWN' across all Kuki-Zo inhabited areas of Outer Manipur, Kuki Hills._
* Date::Thursday, the 5th February, 2026,
* Time: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
_The shutdown is called in protest against the participation of certain Kuki-Zo MLAs in the installation of the new Manipur Government, and against the Central BJP Government's prioritisation of State Government formation while the long-standing constitutional and political demands, SA/UT with Legislature of the Kuki people—arising from widespread violence, displacement, and eviction remain unaddressed, affecting their rights to equality, life, and dignity (Articles 14 and 21, Constitution of India)._
_This peaceful and democratic protest asserts the community's demand for accountability, justice, constitutional safeguards, and genuine political representation, exercised under the freedoms of expression, peaceful assembly, and association (Articles 19(1)(a), 19(1)(b), and 19(1)(c))._
_The Joint Forum calls upon all Kuki-Zo CSOs, Chiefs, Youth Clubs, NGOs and Kuki-Zo denizens to observe /join hands and steward themselves in respective village/ area/ district and region to observe the shutdown with unity and discipline in a democratic and peaceful means._
