Imphal, February 22, 2026: The Government of Manipur has declared a three-day State Mourning following the demise of Pu Vungzagin Valte, MLA of 56-Thanlon Assembly Constituency, who passed away on February 21, 2026.
According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (Records & Library Section), the State Mourning will be observed from February 22 to February 24, 2026, as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
During the mourning period, the National Flag will be flown at Half Mast throughout the state. The government has also announced that there will be no official entertainment on the days of mourning.
The order further requested the Director General of Police, Manipur, to accord Police Honour at the place of the funeral.
The notification was issued by Thokchom Bedajit, Deputy Secretary, General Administration Department, by order and in the name of the Governor of Manipur.
