February 11, 2026: The Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN), has issued a press statement regarding the recent Litan burning incident, alleging involvement of Kuki militants and Indian security forces.
In the statement titled "Scorched-earth tactics of Kuki militants and Indian Security Forces," the MIP claimed that narratives presented by Kuki frontal bodies on the Litan incident are misleading. It alleged that the incident began after an altercation in which a Tangkhul individual was reportedly assaulted, and that the situation was later used as a pretext to target Tangkhul houses.
The statement further accused Indian security forces of complicity, alleging that some personnel were seen alongside Kuki militants during the incident. It described the alleged actions as a "premeditated arson" against the Tangkhul Naga community and termed it a serious violation of human rights.
The NSCN/GPRN also criticized certain Kuki organizations for what it described as "playing the victim card" and refuted claims that Tangkhuls with NSCN support were responsible for the burning of Kuki houses. The statement mentioned the World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council (WKZIC), accusing it of misrepresenting the situation in communication with the Prime Minister of India.
Describing the incident as a symbol of aggression against the Naga nation, the NSCN stated that it would stand firm in defense of what it termed the political rights and land of the Naga people.
