The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) observed its 42nd Foundation Day on 1st March, 2026 through a virtual programme attended by leaders, elders, youth, and well-wishers.
The day commemorated the historic founding of the organization on 1st March 1984 as the Thadou National Council, Manipur under the leadership of its Founding President, Pu SH Seipu. The organization later evolved into the Thadou Tribe Council (1992), then Thadou Inpi (2015), and was reconstituted as Thadou Inpi Manipur in 2024.
A solemn tribute was paid to former leaders and founding members for their vision, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication to the unity and distinct identity of the Thadou people. A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of departed pioneers.
In his address, President M. James Thadou reaffirmed the commitment of TIM to protect the distinct identity, promote Thadou language and culture, and strengthen unity and organizational discipline. He emphasized that the 42nd Foundation Day marks a renewed pledge toward progress and collective welfare.
Founding President Pu SH Seipu reflected on the challenges and vision behind the formation of the organization in 1984 and urged the present leadership and youth to uphold its founding principles with unity and responsibility.
