 EULOGY TO OUR FALLEN HEROES

JANGKHONGAM HANGSHING, 39 Years

S/o Mr. Lungkhosei Hangshing & Mrs. Mengshi Hangshing

Cause of Death:

Shot dead and bodies charred by NCSN-IM and its proxies on 13th June 2026 (Saturday)

- Jangkhongam @Romeo Hangshing, (39) a brave Kuki-Zo Village Volunteer (KZVV) was killed today in another amubush by armed militants of the NSCN-IM and its proxy the ZUF-Kamson faction during a routine area patrolling carried out by the KZVVs around Lasan village in Kangpokpi district.

 

- The recent attacks on Kuki villages and the murder of members of the community in and around Kangpokpi district had necessitated the need for such area patrolling by volunteers from the Kuki community and Jangkhongam was one of the brave patriots who today laid down his life securing the life and property of his people. His group discovered cadres of the IM and ZUF K who were hiding close to the village, preparing for another attack and his sacrifice may have diverted their nefarious plans. 

- He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, two sons and two daughters. The nation mourns his passing and lauds his commitment and sacrifice for the defence of oir ancestral land and freedom.
