The MK Zeliangrong Tiger Force has alleged that an attack on the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) took place shortly after peace discussions involving NSCN-IM leaders and village representatives.
In a statement posted on social media on 26 June 2026, the group claimed that representatives of the KAVAC Khoupum Area Village Authority Councils had met NSCN-IM leaders at Hebron, where appeals were reportedly made to strengthen peace, harmony and mutual understanding between the two factions.
The group alleged that, despite those assurances, armed cadres from the Luangkao side later launched an attack on ZUF members at Kaiphundai village in the presence of civilians, including women, children and elderly people.
It further accused NSCN-IM of seeking economic control over the Zeliangrong homeland, claiming that such interests had contributed to repeated attacks on indigenous landowners. The allegations could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from NSCN-IM to the claims.
