COTU Condemns Bomb Attack on Thingkhongjang Church

 COMMITTEE ON TRIBAL UNITY

CONDEMNATION

ATTACK AGAINST THINGKHONGJANG VILLAGE

Dated: 5th, Sunday July 2026, Sadar Hills Kangpokpi

The Committee on Tribal Unity vehemently condemn the cowardice bomb attack on Church and worshippers on Sunday Service of Thingkhongjan village by the armed Tangkhul led NSCN-IM and ZUF Kamson today at around 5pm leaving dozens of worshippers traumatized and two in critical conditions (bomb-splinter injuries). The bomb destroyed part of the Church structure and properties within the premises and rendering the entire villagers to flee for safety in nearby villages.

This unprovoked attack on Churches, Church leaders and innocent civilians by this armed Tangkhul terrorist NSCN-IM in the region needs a relook on their acclaimed Christian values. Their blood soaked hands of killing three eminent Pastors on the 13th of May 2026 still reverberates within the Christian fraternity cutting across all communities.

Furthermore, the delusional vision of Tangkhul led NSCN-IM over their limitless operational capability within the North Eastern States of the country has become the biggest liabilities for the Government of India and a bottleneck for restoration of peace and semblance of law and order in the regions.

Therefore, the current dispensation in the Centre as well as the state needs to reign in this secessionist armed Tangkhul led terrorist groups, the NSCN-IM and ZUF Kamsom from runing amok destabilizing the region especially the Kuki-Zo habitations in the hills.
