The Kuki CSO Working Committee, Kamjong District, expresses its unequivocal and strongest condemnation of the alleged burning of Phaimol Kuki Village today by armed Tangkhul militants of the NSCN in Kamjong District.
This is not an isolated incident. A similar attack was reported at Kultuh Village on 11 June 2026, revealing what we believe to be a disturbing pattern of targeted violence against the Kuki community in Kamjong District.
These repeated acts of arson, intimidation, and violence constitute a serious violation of human rights, threaten peace and public safety, and undermine the rule of law. Such actions have caused fear, displacement, and suffering among innocent civilians.
We urgently call upon the Assam Rifles and all relevant security agencies to launch immediate and effective operations in the Chatric area, from where these attacks are alleged to have been planned and carried out. Prompt and decisive action is essential to prevent further violence, protect vulnerable communities, and restore public confidence.
We issue a stern warning to those responsible and anyone supporting such acts: cease these attacks immediately. Those responsible must be identified, apprehended, and held fully accountable in accordance with the law. Continued violence will only deepen divisions and further endanger innocent lives.
We also call upon the Government and all concerned authorities to act without delay to restore law and order, ensure the safety and security of all affected villages, and deliver justice to the victims. Lasting peace can only be achieved when those responsible for acts of violence are brought to justice and the rule of law is upheld.
