Tamei, July 10, 2026: The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNCM) has issued a strong condemnation of the State Government’s failure to deliver justice for six Naga men abducted and killed on 13 May 2026. In its press statement, the council highlighted that 57 days have passed without a single arrest or public identification of the perpetrators, leaving families in grief and eroding public confidence in the rule of law.
Demands of LNCM
Immediate arrest and public booking of all perpetrators.
An independent judicial inquiry into the killings and the conduct of security forces.
An end to intimidation of peaceful protesters and protection of citizens’ democratic rights.
Declaring that the State Government has failed in its fundamental duty to protect lives and uphold justice, the LNCM called upon it to step down and allow the people to determine the future course of the State.
