KNF Denies Link to Langka Incident, Calls Allegations Baseless

LAMKA, August 17, 2026: The Kuki National Front (KNF) has categorically rejected allegations linking the organisation, its Home Secretary Jangboi Kipgen and any of its cadres to the recent Langka incident in Kangpokpi district, in which two persons were killed.

In a rebuttal dated August 17, 2026, issued from the KNF office at Camp Ebenezer, Natheljang, Sadlar Hills, the organisation said neither its Home Secretary nor any KNF cadre had any involvement in the incident.

The statement described attempts to associate the KNF or its leadership with the attack as “baseless, unfounded and devoid of truth”.

The KNF further condemned what it termed a deliberate attempt to drag the organisation and its Home Secretary into an incident with which they had no connection. It alleged that vested interests were attempting to create a false narrative and malign the organisation and its leadership.

The organisation said it would not accept what it described as the irresponsible misuse of its name for political or ulterior purposes through the circulation of unsubstantiated allegations, misinformation and propaganda.

“The death of innocent people must never be used to settle scores, manufacture narratives, malign individuals or organisations, or create hostility between communities,” the KNF said.

The KNF also appealed to those behind the allegations to refrain from repeating such acts, warning that what it described as “dirty politics” could come at the cost of communal harmony and public peace and deepen mistrust and misunderstanding between communities.

Reiterating its position, the KNF stated that its Home Secretary had no involvement in the Langka incident and that no KNF cadre was involved. It described the allegations as completely baseless, unfounded and without credible basis.

The organisation urged all concerned to act responsibly, refrain from spreading misinformation and unverified allegations, and work towards preserving communal peace, understanding and harmony.

The rebuttal was signed by LH Stephen Kuki, Information and Publicity, KNF.
