IMPHAL, Aug 27, 2026: Civil society organisations (CSOs) in Moreh, Tengnoupal district, have suspended their 48-hour NH-102 bandh for one week from August 26 following government assurances on improving poor health services.
The bandh was called by the Kuki Chiefs Association, Hill Tribal Council, Tamil Sangam, Gorkha Samaj Sewa Samiti and Manipuri Muslim Council. They demanded the posting of doctors in accordance with the Governor’s July 22 order and the revival of the Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) Moreh and Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
The organisations said the government had assured them that action would be taken, prompting them to relax the bandh for seven days.
They warned that if their demands are not addressed within the week, they will launch a stronger democratic agitation.
