Miss Lhilhing Sitlhou, a Kuki woman from Motbung village in Kangpokpi district, who was serving as a Commercial Representative at the Embassy of India in Bolivia under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, passed away on 10 August 2026.
According to information shared by her community, Sitlhou died in Bolivia following kidney-related complications. She was serving at the Indian Embassy in Bolivia at the time of her death.
Her mortal remains are expected to be flown to New Delhi before being taken to her native village, Motbung, for the final rites. Further details regarding the transportation of her body and funeral arrangements are awaited.
Her death has brought grief to the Kuki community and people of Motbung, who have expressed their condolences to her family and loved ones.
