Imphal, August 13, 2026: A non-local worker was killed and another injured after a fight broke out among non-local workers at Chirai Makha Leikai in Mayang Imphal, under Mayang Imphal Police Station in Imphal West district, at around 9:40 pm on Tuesday.
According to reports, the workers were working and residing at the residence of Joymangol, a former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mayang Imphal Police Station, when a clash broke out among them. During the altercation, the individuals allegedly attacked each other with iron rods, leaving one person dead.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj, a native of Bihar. Another worker, Md. Manzhar, also from Bihar, was arrested in connection with the incident.
A forensic team reached the spot and conducted the necessary forensic examination. Further details are awaited.
