'Church is worshiping place, not for setting on fire'
Imphal, 27 Dec,2012 [Source: Hueiyen Lanpao]: Pastor of Rongmei Baptist Church, Lamphel (RBC), Namga Gangmei has stated that Church is a worshiping place and attack on Church is condemnable.
Speaking to media persons at the premises of RBC, Namga said that RBC is a common worshiping place for all the Christian people of all communities residing in Lamphel area.
However, some miscreants torched the front door of the church on December 25 midnight.
Their intention to attack the Church on the occasion of Christmas is condemnable.
Instead of attacking the holy place, anyone can directly approach the church authority to express his or her discontentment, Namga added.
He also appealed all not to repeat such incidents in future.
In connection with the incident, Church authority has filed an FIR with Lamphel Police.
