Loktak Lake: Jewel of Northeast India (Photo)

 

Loktak Lake, spanning 8 miles in length and 5 miles in width, is located near Moirang, Manipur. The lake is adorned with clusters of low hills, forming tiny islets known as ‘Thanga’ and ‘Karang’. Its most unique feature is the floating ‘phumdis’, a striking natural phenomenon.
