Acting on specific intelligence of presence of cadres in general area Kaprang, Churachandpur district, #Manipur, #Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a cordon and search operation on 16 Feb 25.
Upon spotting the security forces, the cadre attempted to flee under the cover of darkness. The troops pursued the fugitive on foot, surrounded him and forced him to surrender. An AK 47 rifle and ammunition was recovered from him.
A thorough search of the house he was hiding resulted in recovery of .315 rifle and a country-made single-barrel rifle. On initial questioning the cadre identified himself as Finance Secretary of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA).
The apprehended individual and the recovered weapons have been handed over to #ManipurPolice.
