Manipur: 7 KCP militants arrested, Arms Revovered

🚨 7 KCP (PWG) Militants Arrested in Heirok; Arms Recovered, Khun ngakpa Must Not Be Defamed

In a late-night joint operation, #Thoubal CDO and CRPF units arrested seven members of the banned outfit #KCP (PWG) from YBC Club near the SDC office, #Heirok Part III. The operation began around 2:20 AM based on a tip-off. The operation involved CRPF Sector QAT, Range Imphal QAT, QATs of the 109, 69, 66, and 86 battalions, and a company of A/99 Rapid Action Force (RAF).

📌 Arrested Individuals:

1. Waikhom Tinku (28), s/o Waikhom Ranjit Singh

2. Md. Riwas @ Pat, s/o Md. Rafique, Porompat, IE

3. One juvenile (15 years)

4. Angom Bobi @ Wataba (33), s/o Angom Imo Singh, Nongada

5. Ningthoujam Choaba Singh @ Hingchaba (38), s/o Ningthoujam Kulabidhu, Thongju

6. Laishangthem Tomba @ Thabal, s/o L. Dasu Singh, Thoubal Leishangthem

7. Md. Sirajuddin @ Kham (45), s/o Md. Ito, Phoidel Moirangpali

📌 Items Recovered:

♦️Weapons: 1 INSAS LMG, 2 INSAS rifles, 1 Carbine (3 mags), 1 MA3 MK-11 rifle, SLR and .303 ammo

♦️Ammunition: 76 rounds (5.56), 69 rounds (9mm), .303 and SLR rounds

♦️Equipment: Mobile phones, radio sets, charger units, pistol holsters, uniform items, ID cards

♦️Vehicles: 1 Honda Activa 6G (blue), 1 Chevrolet Beat (MN01S-6442)

♦️Other: KCP-PWG badges, propaganda materials, Nepali and Indian currency, debit card, blank cheque

📌 Clarification on Khun ngakpa:

During the operation, some locals tried to obstruct the forces with stone-pelting. Non-lethal means were used to disperse them, and a few security vehicles were damaged. The situation is now under control.

It must be clearly stated that the #Khun_ngakpa, known as local village volunteers defending their communities, should not be defamed or equated with armed gangs that loot and terrorize the public. Linking these arrested KCP (PWG) militants to the Khun ngakpa will wrongly criminalize genuine village volunteers and undermine the role they play in safeguarding their localities.
