Amid growing tensions surrounding the extension of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with the Government of India, the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA), under the Zomi Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO), has issued a strict directive calling for immediate military readiness.
In a notice released on June 25, 2025, and signed by Defence Adjutant Emvee Zomi, the ZRA announced the revocation of all leave and outpass granted to its cadres. Personnel stationed at Muvanlai Camp (New Teikot), Mt. Sinai Camp (Songtal), and Phaibatang Camp (Phaiba) have been instructed to return to their respective camps without delay. The order extends to ex-cadres and reserve cadres, directing them to maintain high alertness and be ready for mobilisation at any time.
The organisation has suspended all jungle-based activities, including hunting and food gathering, until further notice. Civilians are strictly barred from approaching or remaining near any of the camps. Entry by government officials, police, or security personnel is also prohibited without prior authorisation from ZRO's higher command.
Camp commanders have been assigned the responsibility of enforcing discipline and ensuring full operational preparedness during this critical juncture.
The statement emphasised that the measure aims to safeguard the "collective security and unity" of the Zomi people during this pivotal stage of negotiations with the Indian government.
The directive concludes with the ZRO's reaffirmation of its commitment: "For Truth and Freedom."
