Kangpokpi, July 25: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking on July 24, four individuals from Manipur's Naga community were arrested during a joint operation carried out by Kangpokpi District Police, Senapati District Police, and personnel from the 112 and 94 battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Acting on credible intelligence about suspected narcotics activity in T Khullen village under Kangpokpi Police Station (KPI PS), the security forces launched a coordinated cordon and search operation.
The operation led to the recovery of 273 soap cases containing suspected narcotic substances weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms. Additionally, the team seized unaccounted cash totaling ₹99,09,850, seven mobile phones, two light motor vehicles (a DI and a Hyundai Creta), financial documents, and other items believed to be used for trafficking activities.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), daughter of Kapong Shakpa Teinamei, from T Khullen, Kangpokpi District
2. PF Adaphro (34), wife of TK Rocky, from T Khullen, Kangpokpi District
3. S. Boibina (29), wife of Moses, from T Khullen, Kangpokpi District
4. Lungdinibou Thiumei (52), son of Mahenthui Thuimei, from Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong District
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Kangpokpi Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
