At least 11 people were killed and 40 others injured on 8 August when Myanmar regime forces targeted a funeral in resistance-held Lan Lal Kyit Village, Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, according to local sources.
Witnesses said a suicide drone struck the crowd during a donation ceremony for a fallen resistance fighter. Moments later, a fighter jet dropped 500-pound bombs on the same area, destroying six houses.
Although regime forces recaptured Thabeikkyin town on 23 July, most of the surrounding rural areas remain under the control of anti-regime resistance groups.
