The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) takes serious note of accusations on social media regarding the recent visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Churachandpur. Allegations that KZC leaders accepted money or compromised the demand for Separate Administration/UT are entirely baseless.
We clarify that all arrangements for the event—presentations, hall construction, seating, invitations, and roadside decorations etc.—were managed by government authorities: the PMO, the Governor, and the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur. KZC was invited only as a special guest, like other dignitaries.
On this historic occasion, KZC submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister, reiterating our sole demand: Separate Administration in the form of a UT with legislature. We assure our people that we have not deviated from this cause.
KZC remains committed to supporting and closely following the forthcoming political talks between our SoO groups and the Government of India, keeping our common demand at the forefront.
